Requesting an educational research license for What’sBest!

Start by downloading What’sBest! from our website. The version of What'sBest! you need to download depends upon the version of Excel you have installed.

If you have a 64-bit version of Excel installed, then you need to download the 64-bit version of What'sBest!. If you have a 32-bit version of Excel installed, then you need to download the 32-bit version of What'sBest!. Note, it is very common to have a 32-bit version of Excel installed even on a machine running a 64-bit version of Windows. Before installing What'sBest! we recommend you confirm the version of Excel you have installed. From Excel 365, 2016 or 2013 select File|Account|About Excel. From Excel 2010 select File|Help. The information displayed will confirm whether the 32 or 64-bit version of Excel is installed.

When you install the download version Excel will load and display the License Key Entry dialog box (it can also be accessed by selecting License from the What’sBest menu). On the What'sBest! License Key Entry dialog box select Info and note (or respecify) the Destination Folder where the userinfo.txt file will be written. Then, select Create to create the userinfo.txt file. Send the userinfo.txt file to me as an attachment from your educational email address. Once we receive the file we will generate and email you an educational research license key.
